Background
Artist Cathe McNiel (a.k.a. Kitty) was tutored by fine artists Marc Barrosse, Mary
Jarrett and Byron Pickering. Her interest in cartooning and illustration was influenced by
Belgium's "bandes dessinées", drawn books. She is a member of Cartoonists Northwest and
American Cultural Exchange. Cathe teaches cartooning, watercolor and French in schools,
libraries and for parks and recreation departments. The artist lives with her family in the
great Northwest of the U.S. near Seattle, where they enjoy hiking and camping.
